TVT’s COVID-19 Response

Clean and Safe!

  • To protect the public, masks or cloth face coverings are required by all transit users in Vermont by order of the Governor.
  • All TVT Vehicles and facilities are cleaned and disinfected frequently according to VT Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control guidelines.
  • ​All TVT staff, drivers and volunteers are screened at the start of each workday for potential exposure to COVID-19
  • Capacity on all buses is monitored and kept low to allow for social distancing between riders.
  • ​Riders must schedule their trips by calling TVT offices one business day in advance to be screened for potential COVID-19 exposure and to reserve a seat.
  • ​Drivers are equipped with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and trained to safely provide loading and securement of wheelchairs on all buses.
  • ​All TVT bus routes are FARE-FREE until further notice to reduce risk of transmission.

How You Can Help

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water.  If soap & water are not available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • ​Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • ​Stay home if you are sick, except to get medical care.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow.

​​Support for our Communities

TVT recognizes that we are in a unique position to help provide support for community needs emerging as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.  By participating with local community partners, TVT has:

  • ​Provided grocery delivery services
  • Continued service for essential employees at hospitals, grocery stores, and other vital businesses
  • Made deliveries from local food shelves to families in need
  • Maintained transportation for vital medical services like dialysis, cancer and addiction treatment
  • Delivered food from food banks to distribution points
  • Picked up food at Dept. of Health distribution events for people unable to transport themselves
  • Provided extended services and hours of operation to serve seniors during special shopping hours
  • Worked with local schools to deliver summer meals for kids in need
